The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year. Although the holidays bring me great joy, it is always hard to think of gifts to buy for my family members. The Product
I was so excited to receive the Home Pro Shaver Shaved Ice Party Package. The party package includes the shaved ice machine and three shaved ice syrups (I received Cherry, Blue Cotton Candy, and Pina Colada). The directions are very helpful and include some tips and tricks to get the most out of the product. Additionally, the directions provide some great recipes for flavors of shaved ice, as well as toppings to put on the shaved ice. More on these recipes below.
How to Use the Product
The Home Pro Shaved Ice Machine comes with specific ice mold cups that you can use for this product. The directions state to only fill the ice molds 3/4 of the way full with water. Once the ice is completely frozen, you will have a small round block of ice that you will put in the machine.
Directions for use are below.
1. Remove the frozen ice block and place it into the drum. Place the drum into the shaver bowl
2. Place the motor unit on top of the shaver bowl and lock it into position
3. Place a bowl into the drip tray to collect the shaved ice
4. Press and hold down the power button to start the motor unit
5. Release the power button to stop the ice from shaving
6. Apply your favorite premium Hawaiian Shaved Ice Syrup and ENJOY!
Tips & Tricks / Recipes
I was happy to see that they included some great tips and tricks for the best shaved ice. For the fluffiest ice, allow the ice blocks to thaw for 5-7 minutes before putting it into the machine and shaving. Additionally, there will be a thin block of ice leftover in the machine after shaving. The remaining ice must be discarded before trying to shave another block of ice.
If you are bored of eating shaved ice by itself, the company provided some great ideas of how you can eat the shaved ice with other yummy ingredients. A few suggestions include serving mixed drinks over shaved ice, using it as ice in a margarita, and using it to make a smoothie!
The most popular topping that people use on shaved ice is sweetened condensed milk/sweet cream. To make this, purchase a can of sweetened condensed milk from your grocery store. Simply pour a small amount over your flavored ice and enjoy! Other toppings that you could put on your shaved ice include marshmallow topping, fresh fruit, and evaporated milk.
Conclusion
I had an absolute blast using this machine to make homemade shaved ice. My family often stops at shaved ice stands on vacation or during the Summer months in Michigan, and this shaved ice is of a very similar quality.
