I too haven’t lost or damaged my phone, but did drop (accidently) hubby’s phone while RVing and it landed just right, and cracked the screen. Good thing it’s a very old phone and he was ready to upgrade 😉
I have lost a phone in the water before. I was standing on a peir and I was looking over the side with my phone in my hand because I was going to take a picture and someone bumped into me and I lost grip of my phone and it fell into the water. Now I am afraid to have my phone on me when Im near water.
My husband always worries me when he is taking pics over the edge of a boat or cliff. LOL
I have not ruined my phone personally but my toddler put my phone in her milk cup many years ago which ruined it completely

My son was using his flashlight one night when he came home and the phone slipped from his hands and hit the hard cement floor. Shattered the screen.

LMAO!! Yeah, my hubby is a bit of a space case. He also one time was working on our truck, had his phone set by the windshield wipers as he had been looking something up on YouTube (to help fix the truck), he then closed the hood to take the truck for a drive, and forgot his phone on the hood by the windshield wipers. Well, phone fell off somewhere and we never ever found it. And, it was hot pink because he was using my old phone and never got a new case for it. How we never found a hot pink cell phone in the ditch is crazy and we looked for days.
My daughter dropped mine in a bucket of mop water about 15 years ago. Not a good scenerio.

Yes!! Yes I am a victim of water phone! I dropped my phone in the toilet water while I was cleaning my toilets talking on the phone. I had to buy a new one and I was very embarrassed.

I’ve dropped my phone in water a few times and quickly retrieved it and it was ok but my biggest problem was when I had my phone which did have a cracked screen, on the counter while was dishes and dribbled water on it. It took awhile to start back working then still had problems.
My hubby’s phone now has a cracked screen and he has it in his pants pocket when he’s working and I feel that the sweat and stuff will soon leak into it and short it out. He needs a new phone but he’s just not wanting to buy one just yet. LOL

It took a lot of patience, rice, and swearing, but I did get lucky and my phone finally started working again !!

I’ve ruined a brand new phone I had for only a month by dropping it in a pot of water. This was before they had insurance on phones. Wasted money. Wish I had something like this then.
I’ve personally never ruined one but my granddaughter left her juice box and it spilled all over my phone and tried to disguise the crime and told me after I got a nice upgrade, lol, kids!!!

I have never dropped my phone in the water but, this would be a great way to carry your phone while canoeing, boating, or . I have a case that is waterproof but it wasn’t described as floating.

I never had fortunately, but both of my kids did in the past. Once the rice “trick” worked but another time it was a fail!
I think it depends on how wet or how long it was exposed to water, as if the rice will work.
