Traveling is awesome but sometimes not having all the comforts of home is hard. There are some must have RV bedding and accessories you shouldn’t leave home without. But, I don’t suggest you rob your bed at home when you take off in your RV. Instead, set your RV bedroom up like your one at home. This way, you are not only comfortable at home, but also in your home away from home.
I’ve compiled a great list of must have RV bedding and accessories that I hope you find useful for both your home and RV bedroom.

Must Have RV Bedding and Accessories
RV Mattresses
When a person buys a used RV (like we did), sometimes the first thing one should do is get a new mattress. Nobody likes an old mattress. Who knows what has happened on it, right? Things spilled, potty accidents, dogs doing their business, etc. Some people don’t believe in using mattress protectors, so please get a new mattress.
The DynastyMattress Store has a nice selection of RV Mattresses. Looking for a mattress in a box, then try the Zinus store.
Comforters and Bedspreads
Adding your flair to your RV bedroom can be fun. It can be fun to be wild and crazy and choose colors or styles different from your home bedroom.
For me, I went with a fun black and white checker duvet because I am a huge Cheap Trick fan. The set came with a queen duvet, fitted sheet and 2 pillow shams. Buying a duvet worked for me because I already had a comforter. A duvet goes over a comforter to change up a bedding look.
Take a look at the image above to see my bedroom. Being a Cheap Trick fan, I even accented with some fun Cheap Trick themed throw pillows. The pillows came from an awesome Etsy Seller.
Many people opt for a wildlife or outdoor theme in their RV’s. There are many fun bedding options if you like that kind of thing. Something like this Wake in the Clouds Rustic Patchwork Quilt set. Perfect to brighten any RV bedroom and bring nature inside.
Bed Sheets and Mattress Protectors
Finding sheets can be fun. Go with lodge design, solid colors, or fun and crazy ones. Sometimes when you have a comforter that is a design, you will want a solid color for sheets. Maybe you don’t care and you are all about the design. Either way, I love getting all my sheets from Amazon.
When camping it’s important to have a comfy bed, for us. Recently we have fallen in love with bamboo sheets. Soft, cool, breathable, skin friendly and did I mention, soft? OMGosh they are awesome! Also available in lots of colors and sizes for your RV bedding.
Not into the solid color sheets? There are many different patterns one can find online or even in stores. From a lodge pattern sheet set to a fun polka dot sheet set. Have fun picking your sheets out.
Before putting your new sheets on, make sure you put on a waterproof mattress protector. All my beds at home, and beds in the RV are protected. Life is unpredictable, so why ruin a mattress over an oops.
Pillows and Cushions
The perfect bed pillows, like the ones you use every night at home, are a must. Instead of bringing your pillows from home, get ones that stay in the RV.
Hubby and I both have special pillows we use, and we make sure the exact ones are at home and in the RV. My husband is a side sleeper and he loves his adjustable shredded memory foam pillow. Actually he has 2 of them at home and 2 in the RV. He hugs one and puts his head on the other. He feels this is the best pillow for sleep apnea as it keeps him from tossing and turning.
Having neck issues I try to sleep on my back but end up on my side most nights. That’s why I use a neck pillow. The neck relief ergonomic cervical pillow has been a perfect pillow for my neck. There have been times we’ve road tripped and stayed in hotels and I’ve forgotten my pillow. Let me just say, big mistake! This really is the best pillow for all sleep positions but especially if you have neck issues.
Cushion Lab has the best pillows I have ever found, and I have bought a lot of pillows. Made for comfort for many sleeping positions. There is a pillow for everyone. Buy pillows for your head, neck, knees and even your bottom. Cool and breathable and designed to fit any sleeping style.
Blankets for your RV Bedding
Having extra blankets in the RV is very important. Just this past winter (Feb and March 2021) we were RVing and whoa, it got cold. While we were heading to Arizona, we were traveling through cold states. Nights got chilly, that even our Black Lab was cold sleeping on the floor of the RV. The wind whips right through RV walls.
You will always see blankets on the couch and chair for snuggling with in the evenings. Also extra blankets at the foot of the bed. I’ve got a nice fluffy sherpa throw that my little Shih Tzu lays on at the foot of the bed. On the desk in the bedroom I keep a nice thermal blanket that’s easily grabbed when it’s chilly.
RV Bedroom Accessories
Decorating your RV bedroom is like decorating your bedroom at home. Everyone has special touches like throw pillows, or curtains that match the bedding.
Because we like our bedroom dark, especially when traveling I went with blackout curtains. I shared about my RV window makeover to show everyone how easy it is to change out the valances in RV’s.
Living the RV Life
All the years my husband worked his job the chatter on weekends between us was always the same. RV Life! We always had the dream of buying a nice RV and traveling away from Minnesota in the winters.
Well the time finally came January 2021 and we headed out for our RV travels. Only being gone for 2 months the first time out, the bug bit us hard and all we have done is plan our next winter travels.
This list will give you some inspiration for your RV bedroom. No need to drag bedding from the house to the RV and back. Deck your RV bedroom out so it’s just as comfy as your bedroom at home.
