One beer, two beers, three beers, more! For those who love beer, that is the best beer drinking saying. I know, because I work in a bar and have for years and years. I also used to own one and know people love their beer.
Most people I know enjoy a beer now and then, and many of them enjoy a beer or two or three or more, daily. And, from my experience those who love beer are very loyal to their favorites. Just like me, I find one I love and it’s my go to for a while.
Melvin Brewing is a great example of a beer lovers paradise. If ever in Wyoming or Montana or Missouri you should check them out and their fun beer creations.
What is Beer?
Funny question, right? Well I realize that not everyone is a beer drinker so here is a bit of info into what beer really is.
One of the oldest and most consumed alcoholic drinks in the world. Yes, you read that right. Brewed from cereal grains like malted barley or wheat, corn, and rice. More modern beer is brewed with hops which adds bitterness.
Many beers today may contain special flavorings like fruit or herbs, coffee or chocolate, spices, and basically anything a brewing company can think of to make a unique beer flavor.
Sold in bottles or cans, and sometimes you can even find it sold by the growler. And of course if you own an establishment that sells beer, you can order it by the keg so you can sell it to customers by the glass.
Types of Beer
There are many different types of beer and the people who choose certain ones are very loyal. My tastebuds go for a domestic beer but many of my bar patrons like many of the imports offered today.
One can choose between a pale lager and pilsner, dark lager, german bock, brown ale, pale ale, India pale ale (IPA), porter, stout, Belgian-Style ale, wheat beer, wild & sour ale, or specialty beer.
Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite beer is.
Beer Drinking Games
Maybe it’s my age, or the fact I was a wild child, or maybe because I work in a bar and have for many years, but did you know there are some pretty fun beer drinking games?
If you have ever been to a beer festival or done things like a pub crawl you might know all about the fun one can have with beer.
Beer pong, slap cup, flip cup, quarters, beer bongs, never have I ever, drunk Jenga, and many more. Basically, if it’s a game, you can turn it into a beer drinking game. Be responsible of course.
Beer Brewing at Home
This is something I have never tried, but an old boyfriend of mine and his father used to brew beer all the time. Their homebrew, that was so nasty I couldn’t even get it past my lips! Maybe because I was 19 and really wasn’t into dark beers or even knew much about beer at the time. (I was a late beer bloomer)
Kits for making your own homebrew can be found many places and it can be fun to give it a whirl. Just like making wine at home, or basically anything at home, it’s fun to try it once, right?
Have you ever brewed your own beer? Drop me a comment and tell me about it.
Beer is one of those beverages that will be here til the end of time, so why not stop on down to your favorite beer joint, belly up to the bar and say… Bartender pour me a tall cold draft! Of course, don’t forget to tip that bartender nicely.
