There is no way to not know about all the illnesses happening all over the world because we hear it and see it on TV, radio, internet, and in the paper. It’s everywhere! The news spread faster than the illnesses.
For those who love and live to travel any illness is scary but knowing how to stay safe from the coronavirus while traveling is a hot topic right now. Being sick is not fun, and being deathly sick is very scary.
What is the Coronavirus?
Coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection much like that of many other viruses where one deals with a sore throat, infection in nose and sinuses and they say most coronaviruses aren’t dangerous.
Spread much like the flu is, thru respiratory droplets from sneezing, coughing and possibly even kissing it makes this virus alot like many others.
There are many versions out there when one is searching to find information about the coronavirus but I like to trust WebMD for all my healthy facts. When you want coronavirus updates WebMD has that as well.
Turn on the radio, TV or look at your computer or smart phone and you will see all the talk about flight cancellations, ships being docked and passengers either being kept on in quarantined areas or taken off and right to hospitals.
The coronavirus is causing a lot of scare all over the world. And, with good reason! People are dying while others are clearing off shelves buying up masks, sanitizing products, cleaners and more.
Traveling can be scary, but that is no reason to not travel right now, or any time. Here are tips to help you stay safe from the coronavirus while traveling.
Safe Respiratory Hygiene
Washing hands has always been something everyone should do, but now more than ever. If you are ill or not, washing hands and using sanitizer is very important. One never knows who has touched something before you, right?
Keep your hands and fingers off your face and out of your mouth, or your childrens faces or mouths. Hands are the things that touch everything so they can be very dirty!
When using any facial tissues for blowing your nose, wiping your nose, or coughing into, dispose of them in proper trash cans and please, if you do have to sneeze or cough be kind and do use a tissue and do dispose of it asap.
Wearing a mask is also helpful. There are many types of masks but what is recommended is the N95 mask.
Be a Clean Freak!
Carry disposable sanitizing wipes and use them, everywhere. If you are flying, taking a bus or train, use them on your seat and everything you might happen to touch. There is no shame in being a germaphobe ever! Wipe Wipe Wipe, and then Wipe again!
Love cruising? Great! But bring your sanitizing wipes with on your cruise and sanitize everything in your cabin and use them everywhere you venture to on the ship. Be that person who wipes everything off before using it.
Here are products I recommend everyone bring on every vacation, no matter where or when.
Research Your Destination
You might be dreaming of going to one travel destination, but if you research how many people have been sick there, you might change your mind. There is nothing wrong with changing plans last minute, if you can.
Did you plan on flying? Maybe where you are wanting to go isn’t that far away and you can opt for a road trip and drive there. Driving helps you stay away from people and germs a bit more.
If you trip isn’t booked or paid for yet, you might want to just cancel all together and plan it for a later time. Yes, that would totally bite especially if you really needed a vacation, but what is more important? Health or vacation. (Shh… I know you said vacation!)
Be Healthy Before You Go
Make that Dr appointment you have been putting off and be totally checked over to make sure you are healthy. Usually the people that get the sickest are the ones with an already compromised immune system. Get your Dr’s once over and thumbs up for travel.
Bump up your healthy supplement intake and healthy eating to ensure that your body is in tip top immune shape. And if you are feeling a bit under the weather make sure to get checked out to keep others safe.
Supplements that I love taking daily to help with my immune system are some essential oils and an all in one liquid vitamin that is amazing! I grab all mine from Amazon. Check out my shopping guide.
Be In The Know
Keeping up with what’s going on around you is also very important. Don’t buy into all the chatter on social media, get your information from trusted sources like the latest Coronavirus Updates and the CDC.
