If you identify as a woman than we welcome you to come on over and join Her Travel Network. Currently we have a wonderful community on Facebook filled with over 18k women from all over the world. We are on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and have a Facebook page as well.
Who and What is Her Travel Network?
Her Travel Network used to be Budget Travel Babes. Nothing much has changed except the name, with a slight twist on the focus. While we are still here to connect women all over the world, who love to travel, it’s not just about traveling on a budget anymore.
Offering a vibrant and growing community on Facebook of over 18K women from all over the world who love to travel. The choice to change the name came from understanding that not every traveler looks at the term “budget” the same. For some the word budget might mean couch surfing or hiking/tenting for free. While for others it might simply mean sacrificing by taking a cheaper flight, to be able to afford a nicer hotel. There are so many levels of budget we felt like the community needed to remove that term, so we did.
However, taking out the one word doesn’t change what we are, a fun group of women with travel on the brain!
Who is Her Travel Network for?
While there are not a lot of requirement to join the Her Travel Network community, the ones we have are very important. Because we are a vibrant community that welcomes all women, who love to travel, one key factor is you must be a woman.
Rules to join:
- Be a woman (identify as a woman)
- Love to travel or learn about travel
- Agree to group rules
See how simple that is? Now, come on over to Her Travel Network Facebook Group and join. (Take NOTE: The group URL is still budgettravelbabes because FB won’t let a URL be changed after the group has 5000 members. So, while the URL is still the same, the group name is new.

Women often ask for travel recommendations. When it is helpful and relevant, you can share your blog, business (no MLMs), social media, or affiliate link in the comments as a response.
Example 1: “Does anyone have tips for Rome?”
Commenting in response: Yes, I have a blog post about the best things to do in Rome. Here is the link.
Example 2: “Does anyone have any tips for Rome?”
Commenting in response: Yes, I recommend this walking tour and restaurant. Also, I own a hostel that could be a good option for you. Here is the link.
Example 3: “What travel insurance company do you use?”
Commenting in response: I use World Nomads every time that I travel and I’ve always had a great experience. You can get a quote and find out more about their plans on this page (affiliate link).
What to Watch For
Sheila took over Budget Travel Babes but had a vision and that vision was to big to tackle alone so she enlisted Tara. Together they have amazing things in store. Things like a brand new community that will be housed off Facebook. The Facebook group will always be there, as long as Facebook is a thing. But, having an off Facebook community in a forum platform will give us the freedom to do so much more.
The new forum (coming soon) will have “boards” for topics like solo travel, couples travel, camping, hiking, road-tripping, and more. We will set up boards for women traveling alone that need safe places to either park for the night, or a safe couch to sleep on. Boards where women can hook up with other women for like minded travel. There will also be a wonderful gal that will offer group trips, as well as 2 travel agents (Tara and Sheila) that can help you take the prep out of travel and book it for you.
Many women travel with a partner and this group while it’s only for women, will also have board that is for women traveling with a husband (partner). No men are allowed in the group, but it will be a way for women to meet other women who do travel with their husbands or partners. There will also be a group for family travels.
Even though we are dedicated to helping women, we understand that there is a huge array of women travelers and we will not limit Her Travel Network to one kind or one level of traveler.
So come join us, and see what we are all about.
