Calling all those with a sweet tooth. This is a copycat recipe you will for sure want to try. I bring to you today a cast iron skillet brownie just like you will find at Chili’s, but better. Better because you make it yourself, in your own home. Nothing is better than homemade desserts.

Sometimes when traveling near and far, I fall in love with foods at places we eat. There is no Chili’s restaurant near us so when we travel we try to eat at one at least once. This is my favorite dessert of theirs so I of course had to share it with you.

Cast Iron Skillet Brownie – CopyCat Chili’s Restaurant

Do you like cast iron skillet cooking? It’s a great way to feel like you are living back in the day of your grandparents or great grandparents. I remember my grandma using cast iron skillets all the time, for all sorts of cooking.

CopyCat Chili’s Skillet Brownie Recipe

Let’s get to the recipe. I know most bloggers ramble on about their life, their kids, their pets, their jobs, etc. Why you might ask? Well because Google likes to see lots of content and words before a recipe to keep the reader on the site longer. I am one of those bloggers who doesn’t follow rules (much). Cast Iron Skillet Brownie Recipe

Yield: 3 Skillets (Each skillets serves about 2 people)

Equipment:

Mixing Bowls ( I recommend these mixing bowls because they have handles. )

Medium Pot/Saucepan

6.5 inch Cast Iron Skillet

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Bake Time: 25-30 minutes

Idle Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

1 ½ cups white sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

4 eggs

½ cup flour

½ cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup chopped pecans

1 large scoop of vanilla ice cream

Garnish:

Extra chopped pecans

Chocolate Syrup

Directions for the Cast Iron Skillet Brownie

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

In a pot or saucepan melt the butter until simmering.

In a bowl filled with the chocolate chips, add the melted butter on top.

Whisk together until the chocolate chips have completely melted and you have a smooth mixture.

Add in the white sugar and vanilla to the chocolate mixture and combine.

In a smaller separate bowl, whisk the eggs together until slightly frothy.

Add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture and combine, at this point the batter should be shiny

Pour the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt into the batter and fold together.

Add in the chopped pecans and fold until distributed.

Pour the batter into the cast iron skillet, filling a little more than halfway.

Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.

When out of the oven, let cool for only 5 minutes, then place scoop of ice cream on top.

Garnish with extra pecans and drizzled chocolate syrup.

Enjoy while still warm!
