What is the Weather like in Roatan?
The temperatures in Roatan vary by only about 10 degrees throughout the entire year. This makes it a great destination to visit at any point in the year. Their tropical rain forest climate is ideal for visitors wanting to explore both land and sea. The “warm season” for Roatan occurs between July and October. The average temperature during the warm season is in the high-80s. The “cold season” lasts from November to February with an average high temperature of 83 degrees.
What should I wear for my Roatan Excursion?
For most of the above Roatan excursions, I would recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting sweaty, wet, or dirty. If you are going to the beach at any point, don’t forget to pack a swimsuit, sunscreen, and a towel. You may also want to bring a change of clothes so that you are not heading back to your accommodations all wet. If you are going ziplining make sure you bring closed toed shoes with you.
I always bring one of my favorite travel backpacks with me on the island. I pack my backpack full with a change of clothes, swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses, and always a bottle of water. Also, don’t forget to bring cash in case you buy food and/or want to tip your driver.
Can you drink the water in Honduras?
It is not recommended to drink the water in Honduras. Remember, this includes frozen drinks and ice cubes. I highly recommend only drinking out of bottled beverages while you are in Roatan.
Final Thoughts
I have made the best memories in Roatan Honduras and I am always excited for my next visit. Although there are many different types of excursions to take, the most popular involves hanging with the Honduran sloths and ziplining over the jungle.
